Hockey Wrap: Mustangs Win, Lumberjacks Remain Winless

Alex Nauss had a goal and three assists to help lead the South Shore Mustangs over the Newbridge Academy Gladiators 6-5on Sunday. Keith Getson also scored a hat-trick, while Ty Duffus and Jered Scott added single markers. Colby Muise stopped 30 shots in the win. The Mustangs will travel to Cole Harbour Wednesday.

The CIBC Wood Gundy Lumberjacks continue to search for their first win of the season. On Sunday, the visiting Bridgewater club held a 3-2 lead with just over a minute to go before Woodstock scored twice to steal a 4-3 victory. Shawn Boudreau scored twice for the Jacks who are winless in nine. The Jacks also lost to Campbellton last Friday night and Miramichi Saturday. The Lumberjacks will try again for win number one when they make their debut in the new LCLC this Friday night against Dieppe.

A perfect weekend road trip for the Halifax Mooseheads as they went three for three. The Moose capped things off Sunday with 3-2 win over Drummondville. Jonathan Drouin scored the winner midway through the third period for the 6-5 Herd.
