Lunenburg County: Planned Power Outage

There will be a planned power outage for about an hour Saturday morning. Nova Scotia Power will be completing system work to improve reliability. The power outage is scheduled to begin between 6AM and 7AM. Affected customers Include Grimms Settlement, Middle LaHave, Martin's Brook, Cente, Sunnybrook and Maders Cove. Also, affected are the customers of Riverport Electric and Mahone Bay Electric.

All affected customers include:
Indian Path, Bayport, Feltzen South, Tanner Settlement, Corkums Island, Grimms Settlement and
Middle LaHave.

Martin’s Brook, Lilydale, Center, Back Center, Front Center,  First South, Spectacles Lakes,

Northwest, Fauxburg , Second Peninsula, Heckmans Island, Stonehurst East and West, Eastern Points, Snairs Crossing, Hermans Island, Sunnybrook, Martin’s Brook  and Maders Cove

New Role For Local MP Within Harper Government

The member of parliament for South Shore-St. Margaret's has a new parliamentary job. Gerald Keddy has been appointed Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of National Revenue and for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency. He will work on the Government's financial agenda in the House of Commons and within the Standing Committee on Finance.  His other duties will include answering questions and tabling reports in the House of Commons on behalf of the Minister, and representing the Minister on National Revenue issues. 

A Drop In Gasoline Prices

Another drop overnight in South Shore gas prices. Regular self serve is down today by more than 4 cents a litre to $1.28.5. High-test is down to $1.37.4. Diesel is unchanged though at $1.36.5 a litre.

Nursery School Celebrates 50 Years

A nursery school in Bridgewater is celebrating 50 years this weekend. Wee Wisdom Nursery School will mark the milestone Saturday with a celebration for former staff and students, and to the public. The school enrols kids ages two-and-a-half to five from all different areas across the South Shore. Executive Director Connie Crouse says it's an important date for them.



The event will be held between 1-3pm Saturday in the gymnasium of the United Church Building on Hillcrest Road.

Lumberjacks Host Tigers In Bridgewater

The CIBC Wood Gundy Lumberjacks hope home ice will earn them their first win of the young MHL season. The Jacks face-off against the Campbellton Tigers tonight at the Bridgewater Memorial Arena. Goaltender Billy Clarke says its important to get their first 'W'.




Clarke expects to get the call between the pipes tonight. Puck drop is at 7pm.
