Weather Could Dampen Lunenburg's 260th Anniversary

Organizers preparing Lunenburg's 260th anniversary celebrations this weekend are squaring off against an uncontrollable element, the weather. The forecast is calling for rain for both Saturday and Sunday. It would dampen the town's efforts to hold outdoor concerts on the Lunenburg Waterfront and a barbecue and picnic at St. John's Anglican Church. Coordinator of Special Events, Robin Scott, says they're holding out hope that mother nature will co-operate.

Scott says event planners along with the mayor are expected to meet Thursday to discuss alternative options. A full calendar of events for the rest of this week is below.
