Lunenburg West Liberals Set To Nominate Their Candidate

Mark Furey & Stephen McNeil
Liberals in Lunenburg West are about to nominate their candidate for the next provincial election. Mark Furey is returning to take another crack at the seat now held by NDP MLA Gary Ramey. Furey lost to Ramey when he ran in 2009. Today, Wednesday, Furey is retiring from his 32 year career with the RCMP, the past 24 based in Lunenburg County. The province's Liberal leader Stephen McNeil says having Furey back on the team is helping to boost his party's fortunes. However, he says tackling the meat and potato issues headon is also important. McNeil says there's also a decline in voter confidence in the NDP government.

The Lunenburg West Liberal nomination meeting for Mark Furey will be held Thursday evening starting at 630 at the Bridgewater Legion Hall.
