South Shore: Paramedics Recognized For Long Service

Fifty paramedics - each with at least 20 years of experience - were given long service medals today during a special ceremony in Halifax. Nearly a dozen recipients work and live on the South Shore. Chester Basin's Richard Baglole and Conquerall Bank's Martin Bell each have over 30 year of working as a paramedic and were honoured today. Other recipients, include Bridgewater natives Allan Cranton, Jonathan Pippy. James Holmes of Shelburne County, Peter MacPherson of Mahone Bay and Bruce Parks of Lunenburg were also recognized for their years of service. Yarmouth County had three paramedics picking up a medal - they include - Dean Vokey, Shane Strong and Douglas Borque. The Paramedic Long Service Award is given to paramedics with 20 years or more of experience.
