Gabrielle Brings Wet Weather To South Shore

It looks like the South Shore should brace for more than 40 millimeters of rain. Tropical storm Gabrielle continues to travel towards the Maritimes and Newfoundland. A special weather statement from Environment Canada affecting Lunenburg, Queens and Shelburne Counties says Gabrielle is expected to bring heavy rain, which could reach the South Shore by Friday morning. Steve Mills with the province's Emergency Management Office says people should clean up any loose material in their yards.

Mills says people should also prepare for flash flooding if the rain comes down quickly. The rain is expected to spread to the rest of the Atlantic coast and Eastern Nova Scotia by late in the day Friday.
