Lunenburg: Council Pre-Approves Funds For Water/Sewer Project

Town council in Lunenburg has pre-approved funds to complete a large water and sewer project. The decision to commit just over $610,000 toward the last portion of the project was approved earlier this week. Work on the $1.2 million project began last fall with a large portion carried out on Bluenose Drive and Pelham Street. The project is being assisted by federal funding and will help increase water flows to assist with fire fighting in Old Town Lunenburg. Town Engineer Marc Belliveau says the project also involves splitting their storm and sanitary water lines. He says that will help with efficiently and keep costs down at the town's water treatment facility. Work will resume in the spring around Bluenose Academy.
