South Shore Election Has Several Races To Watch
South Shore residents will learn who will represent them at the municipal and school board level tomorrow night. The outcomes of the races won't be known until after the polls close but a few big changes are already certain. A brand new South Shore Regional School Board will be elected almost a year after the previous board was fired by the Education Minister. Meanwhile, there will be new mayor's elected in Bridgewater, Queens, Lunenburg and Yarmouth. There is also a dog fight race shaping up in the Town of Shelburne with four candidates vying for the mayoral position. In Halifax, six candidates are in the running to replace longtime mayor, Peter Kelly. The CKBW news team will provide complete coverage of Saturday's election from key locations throughout the South Shore. CKBW's John Waterman will anchor the program with special guests Laurence Mawhinney, Carroll Publicover and John Leefe providing expert analysis. Our coverage begins when the polls close at 7 o'clock. We will feature live reports from Lunenburg, Bridgewater, Chester, Shelburne, Queens, Mahone Bay and Municipality of Lunenburg.
