The local school board's operations department has bragging rights for the next year. The board's maintenance crew recently took home an innovation award from the Nova Scotia School Maintenance Advisory Conference. Staff made a special tool allowing doors and hinges to be straightened, re-adjusted and re-used, helping to save on time and money. Communications Manager Trish Smith says the award speaks volumes about their maintenance crew.This is the first time the local school board has received the trophy.
