MHL: Jacks Prepare For Final Pre-Season Tune-Up

In MHL pre-season action last night in Yarmouth the Mariners topped the CIBC Wood Gundy Lumberjacks 6-4. Playing his first game this year Lumberjack Luc Ramey was the first star with two goals and two assists. The Jacks play their final exhibition contest today at 12:30 at the Dartmouth Sportsplex against the Metro Shipbuilders.

Bulldogs Look For Solid Finish At Atlantics In NFLD

The Bridgewater Bulldogs can place no higher than third at the 2012 Atlantic Pee Wee Baseball championships in St. John's, Newfoundland. Fredericton scored the game's only run in the bottom of the seventh to edge Bridgewater 1-0 in last night's semi final.  The Bulldogs will face Lower Sackville in the bronze medal game this morning.

Bulldogs Advance To Semi-Finals at Atlantics

Bridgewater has advanced to the semi finals at the Atlantic Pee Wee Baseball championships. The Bulldogs scored early and often as they dumped the host team from St. John's, Newfoundland 8-2 this afternoon. Bridgewater will face Fredericton in the semis tonight. The gold medal game goes tomorrow.

NDP Ferry Service Support Is Political Hay Making: Yarmouth Liberal MLA

The Nova Scotia government has antied-up 21 million dollars to re-launch a ferry service that once linked Yarmouth and Portland, Maine. Premier Darrell Dexter made the announcement this morning, three years after his government effectively killed the service by cancelling a six-million dollar annual subsidy. The premier says the money will be provided over a seven-year period on the condition a private operator can be found to run it. Yarmouth Liberal MLA Zach Churchill says he's happy to see this issue move forward finally. He questions the timing though.



The premiers's announcement this morning came after the release of an independent report that concluded the service could be revived with 35 million dollars in public funds and a significant boost in passenger traffic.

NS Government Backs Revived Yarmouth Ferry Service

 A new ferry service between Yarmouth and Maine is not a lost cause according to an independent panel report released this morning. It concludes an initial $35 million in public funds would be needed as well as a significant boost in passenger traffic to ensure the service is viable. However, the provincial government is adding its support to a new service with premier Darrell Dexter saying 21 million dollars over 7 years will be committed to the project. The province will also look for a private sector operator. Yarmouth Mayor Phil Mooney says its the best news he's heard in a long time and he's optimistic a ferry service can be up and running by next summer.



The mayor says its now up to the federal government to also make a major committment. He says the local Conservative MP Greg Kerr and Defence minister Peter McKay have already voiced their support. Mooney believes they'll hold weight in any Harper Government discussion on whether to provide financing.

Power Rates: UARB Sides With Electric Co-op

It's decision that will save members of the province's municipal electric co-op millions in unnecessary charges. Nova Scotia Power attempted to apply a $30 million dollar cost recovery charge to keep the five municipal utilities locked into their power grid. However, the Utility and Review Board rejected the request in a ruling handed down yesterday in Halifax. Members of the co-op have been working for the past seven years to secure a cheaper source of power and were caught off guard by NSP's request. The UARB decision means the co-op can proceed with its negotiations with an outside energy producer in an effort to find cheaper power for their residents. The Municipal Electric Co-op is made of independent utilities in the town's of Mahone Bay, Lunenburg, Riverport, Berwick and Antigonish.

Slight Increase In Gasoline Prices

The province's utility and review board has set gasoline prices for the coming week. Only a slight change in some South Shore prices this morning. Regular self serve is up a bit to $1.39 per litre. Thats just under half a cent more than yesterday. High-test is selling for $1.48. Diesel is unchanged at $1.37.1.

Lumberjacks Trim Roster As Season-Opener Nears

The CIBC Wood Gundy Lumberjacks have whittled down their roster as the regular season looms. The Junior "A" hockey club has sent three players back to their respective Major Midget clubs including Cole Skinner, Riley Strowbridge, and Patrick Duggan.  More players will be released following the Jacks' exhibition games this weekend in Yarmouth and Dartmouth. The Lumberjacks open their regular season a week from tomorrow night when they welcome Yarmouth.

Decision On Yarmouth Ferry Service Set For Friday

People in Yarmouth will know more about the fate of ferry service on Friday. A highly anticipated report will be released in Halifax examining whether a ferry linking their community to the U-S is considered viable. Municipal leaders along the South Shore have been calling on the government to reinstate the ferry service to help boost tourism and the economy. The N-D-P government ended a subsidy for a high-speed ferry service between Yarmouth and Maine in December 2009. The decision to end the annual six-million-dollar subsidy for Bay Ferries Limited sparked protests in Yarmouth, where residents say it harmed the local economy.

New Jobs Boost Housing Market In Lunenburg

A hot housing market over the summer in Lunenburg combined with an expanding workforce is just what the doctor ordered according to the town's outgoing mayor. Several homes have been taken off the market over the past few months and Laurence Mawhinney believes it the sign of a strong economy. He says new employment opportunities at Composites Atlantic, the Lunenburg Foundry and HB Studio's have helped the housing market.




Mawhinney says nearly 100 new jobs have been created through new opportunities within the three companies. He believes another driving factor behind the positive economic climate is the opening of Bluenose Academy and it's proximity to the town.

Dexter: QGH Project Provides Long Term Benefits

Premier Darrell Dexter says the Queen General Health project will provide long term benefits to the region. The $16 million project will see the construction of a collaborative health care facility in Liverpool in addition to upgrades at the hospital's existing 22-bed inpatient unit. Dexter says the project will help improve the overall quality of life for medical staff and assist with recruitment and retention of doctors and nurses. He also believes the new health care services will help attract new employers to Queens.



The sod was turned on the project late last month with a tentative completion date set for the end of 2013.

Former Town Councillor Seeks Seat In Bridgewater

A former Bridgewater town councillor's name will appear on the ballot when municipal elections are held next month. Long-time resident Kevin Marlin has declared his intentions to seek a council seat on October 20th. He says community engagement, fiscal responsibility and accountability are the cornerstones of good open local government. If elected, Marlin says he'd like to see a realistic strategic plan implemented by council.





Marlin is currently a manager with Service Canada and previously served on council from 1994 to 1997 and again from 2004 to 2008.

Beware Of Rules About Stopped School Buses

Thousands of South Shore students are beginning their new school year today. The return to class is a busy occasion for kids and drivers. Motorists are being advised to slow down and watch for children darting out into streets. Sgt. Brigit Leger of the RCMP says they also must stop for school buses displaying flashing red lights. The fine for not doing so is 399 dollars plus 6 demerit points on their license.



Motorists also have to slow down in school zones to the posted speed, either 30 km an hour or 50 km an hour, depending on location.

MHL: Jacks Edge Mariners In Pre-Season Action

The CIBC Wood Gundy Lumberjacks edged the Yarmouth Mariners 4-3 in a shootout in MHL exhibition action last night in Bridgewater. Michael Crawley scored the shootout winner while Shawn Boudreau, Cody Coffin, and Damon MacEachern scored in regulation time.  The Jacks got strong goaltending from both Dylan MacQuad and Jordan Lee as they were outshot 46-25 by the Mariners. The Jacks, who are now 2-0 in the pre-season, play in Yarmouth on Saturday.

Parkinson's Superwalk In Bridgewater Sunday

The largest fundraising event supporting people with Parkinson's disease goes this weekend in Bridgewater. The annual Superwalk for Parkinson's will hit the streets just after 1pm Sunday afternoon. The one-kilometre walk raises awareness for the disease and money to help find a cure. Chair of the Parkinson Society in the Maritime Region, Maureen Brisson, says the walk doesn't take long to do.



Brisson says this will be her last Superwalk in Bridgewater because she's moving closer to her family in B.C. The event goes Sunday beginning in the Gow's parking lot on LaHave Street.

Bridgewater Bulldogs Nab Two Provincial Crowns

Two Bridgewater baseball teams are representing Nova Scotia at Atlantic Championships. The latest team to qualify are the Bantam "AA" Bulldogs, who beat Windsor 11-4 in the final over the weekend. Meanwhile, the Peewee "AAA" club is on its way to St. John's, Newfoundland to begin play Thursday evening. A coach for both teams, Dennis Woodworth, says the two teams will need to play well to be able to win.


The Bantam "AA" club will travel to Dartmouth next weekend for the Atlantics. The Peewee "AAA" team opens up play Thursday night against Moncton. You can follow the local team by going to http://www.baseball.ca/peeweeatlantic/ .

UPDATE: Crews Return To Put Down Brush Fire Flareup

Department of Natural Resources and Mahone Bay fire fighters were back on the scene this morning of last night's brush fire on highway 103 between exits 9 and 10. They returned with an excavator after a flareup around 5am. The original blaze broke out at about 7:45 last evening and 6 deparments were involved including the DNR, Western Shore, Martins River, Mahone Bay, Chester Basin and Blockhouse.
Fire crews spent more than three hours at the scene last night. A Department of Natural Resources spokesman says today's rain should help put out the fire and dampen all wooded areas.

RCMP Looking For Vessel Involved In Mahone Bay Collision

Almost 2 weeks ago, there was an incident in Mahone Bay involving two sailing vessels. On August 25th, a 30-foot-or-more sloop ran into the side of a Middle Sackville man's vessel. The collision caused extensive damage. The sloop with six people aboard stopped briefly to check on the Middle Sackville man's condition. Then, the vessel left the scene and disappeared. No names or insurance information was left. Lunenburg County RCMP are looking for public help in tracking down the suspect vessel and its owner. Zwicker To Run For District 3 In Queens

It is now a three-horse race for District 3's seat around the council table in Queens. Joel Zwicker has announced his intention to run against fellow candidates Brian Fralic and Stacey Smart-Chandler. Zwicker believes its time for fresh faces with new ideas to be part of Queens Council.  He's also concerned about the natural resources in the area.


Zwicker says Queens is in a transition period with the closure of Bowater but believes there's lots of promise for the future. Municipal elections will be held province-wide October 20.

VIDEO: Large Brush Fire Off Highway 103

No injuries after a large brush fire Tuesday night in the Martins River area. Five fire departments including Western Shore, Martins River, Mahone Bay, Chester Basin, and Blockhouse were called to the scene to battle the blaze around 7:45pm. The fire happened just off highway 103 between exits 9 and 10. Western Shore Fire Chief Scott Rafuse says the outcome could have been worse.



Fire crews spent over three hours at the scene. It is considered suspicious. Close to 50 firefighters helped battle the blaze.

School Board Approves New By-Laws

The South Shore Regional School Board has approved new by-laws before this fall's election. Board member Judith Sullivan-Corney and the regional education officer started working on the information back in January. The new by-laws define roles and responsibilities of the superintendent and members, meeting procedures, and accountability. Sullivan-Corney says the by-laws will provide structure to the newly elected board.

Feds, Province Invest In Nova Scotia Music Week

The federal and provincial governments are teaming up to help showcase local musicians. Member of Parliament, Gerald Keddy, announced $246,000 from the federal government to purchase equipment and make infrastructure improvements at Queens Place Emera Centre for Nova Scotia Music Week. Improvements to the facility include a new ice covering system, upgrades to storage capacity, and additional seating. Keddy says an additional $40,000 will spent to help Music Nova Scotia develop export opportunities during Nova Scotia Music Week.
The money will be used to give musicians access to influential music buyers from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Meanwhile, the province announced $38,400 in funding to also bring in international music buyers from the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada to hear live performances from local acts. Nova Scotia Music Week 2012 will be held at the Queens Place Emera Centre from November 8-11. RCMP Advise Drivers To Slowdown As School Begins

South Shore schools open for classes on Thursday. The first day of school in September after summer vacation is considered one of the busiest days of the year. For motorists, they have to be extra cautious. The RCMP's media liason officer, Sgt. Brigdit Leger, says one of the biggest changes this year for motorists is in school zones.



However, Leger says drivers have to be careful everywhere and expect the unexpected.



Leger says motorists need to slow down not only in school zones but everywhere else too where kids are seen along streets and on sidewalks.

North Queens Roof Replacement On Schedule

The roof replacement at the North Queens Community School is nearly complete. The project started earlier this summer and is expected to be ready by October 15. Director of Operations, Steve Prest, says the work needed to be done sooner rather than later.


Prest says there have been no complications with the project, and its proceeding on schedule. The replacement cost about $300,000.

Local Video Promotes Prostate Cancer Awareness

September is Men’s Cancer Awareness month and a local survivor has developed a new video to encourage kids to speak to their parents about the disease. 'Dad: We Need to Talk' focuses on the need for men to get checked for prostate cancer. Dan Hennessey came up with the idea for the video. He hopes it will drive awareness to prostate cancer and convince men to see their doctor.

Labour Leader Calls For Training Fund

Nova Scotia needs a provincial training fund. That comment from the president of the Nova Scotia Federation of Labour. In a CKBW and Hank-FM News interview, Rick Clarke says workers who've been laid off, such as the hundreds at the closed Bowater-Mersey paper mill in Brooklyn, would directly benefit from training for new professions.


On this Labour Day, Clarke is also calling for the federal government to haul-back on its plan to change EI rules as they would apply to seasonal workers. He says it would be a disaster for the labour market.

UPDATED: LaHave Street Fire Deemed Suspicious

An early morning fire on LaHave Street in Bridgewater has been deemed suspicious. Investigators believe the fire was deliberately set in the basement of the two-story home. The blaze was reported by a witness who saw the flames from the street around 5AM. Nearly 80 firefighters helped battle the fire and were able to keep it from spreading to neighbouring homes. A family of three had been living in the basement but they were out of town. The upstairs portion of the house was available for rent and recently had tenants. Fire officials remained at the scene well into the afternoon. Bridgewater police are asking anyone with information to contact their detachment or Crime Stoppers.

Yarmouth RCMP Search For Missing Swimmer

RCMP in Yarmouth say a large scale search team has been organized to try and find a missing swimmer. Police say they responded to a 911 call on Saturday that indicated a 52-year-old man had experienced distress while swimming in Great Barron Lake at Owl Head Island. Police and firefighters began a search of the area around 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon. An RCMP helicopter also took part in the search of the water and shoreline. Yarmouth County Ground Search and Rescue has returned to the area today and will be joined by RCMP divers. Police say the missing man is from Quinan.

UPDATED: No Injuries After LaHave Street Fire

Close to 80 firefighters were called to battle an early morning fire in a residential area of Bridgewater. The fire was reported shortly before 5 o'clock this morning at a home on LaHave Street just across from the Superstore. Fire Chief Wayne Thorburne says crews were able to contain the fire quickly and keep it from spreading to neighbouring homes in the area. He says an investigation into its cause will take place.




Thorbune says a family of three lived in the basement of the home but they were away when the fire broke loose. The scene is covered in yellow tape and more information on the nature of the investigation is expected to be released in the near future.

Investigation Underway Into LaHave Street Fire

An investigation has been launched into an early morning fire in a residential area of Bridgewater. The fire caused significant damage to a home on LaHave Street just across from the Superstore. Fire crews were called to the scene shortly before 5 o'clock and were able to contain the blaze before it could spread to neighbouring homes in the area. It's not known what caused the fire or if anybody was living in the two-story home. The scene is covered with yellow tape as investigators continue their work.

School Zone Speed Limits Change

Local authorities are reminding motorists to slow down when entering a school zone. Members of the Bridgewater Police Service have posted signs and done checkpoints all week about the changes that come into effect Saturday. Starting September 1, the speed limit in a school zone will drop from 50 kilometres per hour to 30 km/h. When the speed limit is more than 50km/h, drivers must slow down to 50km/h. Constable Will Creamer says they will be out in force when school starts next Thursday.



There are fines for exceeding the speed limit in a school zone. Drivers could pay between $340 and $685 depending how fast they travel over the limit.

Rogers Approaches MODL To Set Up Cell Tower

Rogers Communications is exploring the option of setting up a new tower on the Crouses Settlement Road in Upper LaHave. The company has submitted a development agreement with the Municipality of Lunenburg. In their application, Rogers says they are hoping to install the telecommunications tower in the area to provide the best possible service and optimal coverage to residents. Rogers is proposing to purchase 4.66 acres of undeveloped land currently owned by a resident in the community. A 95-metre tower would be installed in the centre of the land, roughly 255 metres from the nearest home. Municipal council has decided to send the matter to the Riverport and District Area Advisory Committee for review.

School Board Approves 2012-13 Business Plan

It's a document that shapes the work of the South Shore Regional School Board. The board approved their 2012-13 business plan earlier this week. The plan outlines the board's achievements from last year and explains cost pressures. Superintendent Nancy Pynch-Worthylake says this year's plan also focuses on three main goals.

The plan acts as a guideline for staff and the board and sets priorities for them to follow. This is the third year of the three-year plan set up by the board. Pynch-Worthylake says work is already underway to develop a new plan for the next three-to-five year period. Hurricanes Extend Exhibition Winning Streak

The BMO Western Hurricanes Major Bantam Hockey Club have won all of their Nova Scotia Major Bantam Hockey League exhibition games so far in this early season and continued that trend Thursday night by defeating the Halifax Hawks 5-2 at the Halifax Forum. Goal scorers for the Hurricanes were Travis Parks and Jacob Myra with two each and Logan Walters with a single marker. The Hurricanes will have a few more exhibition games over the next couple of weeks before their regular season opens in mid-September.

Gasoline Prices Rise Again

South Shore gasoline prices are flirting with the $1.40 per litre mark.  The utility and review board has set the new prices for the coming week. Regular self serve at South Shore pumps is selling today for $1.38.6 per litre. Thats an increase of 4 cents. Diesel hasn't changed though ... its still at $1.37.1 per litre.

Council Awards $6,000 Grant To Chester Clippers

The Municipality of Chester has awarded its local junior hockey team with a grant for ice rentals. Officials with the Chester Clippers approached council Thursday morning. They were asking for $8,000, but council decided on a $6,000 grant for the club to rent ice at the Eleanor Pew-Morris Memorial Arena. Deputy Warden Floyd Shatford says they only have so much money for grants.



Shatford called it a good decision by council to support the local club. Training camp opens up September 4 for the Junior 'C' hockey team.

Work Begins On New South Queens Middle School

Current SQJHS will be replaced in 2013

Work is beginning on the new South Queens Junior High School. The fence around the construction zone is complete and additional work is expected to start soon. Director of Operations, Steve Prest, says the school will fill a need for students and the community.



The province's Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal has hired Maxim 2000 Inc. to design and construct the new middle school. The facility is scheduled to open in September 2013.

Sports: Lumberjacks Make First Cuts

Four players have been cut from the CIBC Wood Gundy Lumberjacks. Head Coach Terry Rhindress announced the cuts Thursday morning. Among the players cut from the roster are forwards David Schmidt and Bradley Hooper, defenseman Brandon Barrett and goaltender Alex Collette. Rhindress expects to make his next set of cuts after the club's exhibition game Friday night against the Metro Shipbuilders.

Enrollment Increases In Two Local Schools

A pair of Lunenburg County schools are getting more students in their classrooms. New Ross Consolidated and Bluenose Academy will see a spike in their enrollment numbers. The increases will happen in grade primary at New Ross, and multiple grades at Bluenose Academy. The director of Human Resources with the South Shore Regional School Board, Tina Munro, says the numbers impact both schools differently.



Munro says the increase is typically caused by transfers from school-to-school or new families moving to the county. She says they don't anticipate any additional staff because of the increased numbers.

Get Set For Increased Gasoline Prices Again!

Be prepared for the price of gasoline at South Shore pumps to take another jump overnight tonight. In New Brunswick this morning, the price of gas there is up for the fourth week in a row. The maximum price for regular, self-serve has jumped by 3.1 cents per litre to $1.34 per litre. The latest increase means the price has gone up almost ten cents per litre in the past month alone. Meanwhile, the price of diesel is up a penny a litre in New Brunswick and furnace oil has jumped eight-tenths of a cent to $1.17 per litre.

MODL Councillor Bell Receiving Queen's Medal

A 12-year veteran on municipal council is receiving an award for his work away from the table. Municipality of Lunenburg councillor Martin Bell will be awarded a Queens Diamond Jubilee medal for his work with volunteer fire services. He has spent the last 38 years involved with the Conquerall Bank Fire Department. Bell says he is honoured to receive the medal.



One-hundred and eighty firefighters across Canada will receive the award. Bell will travel to Ottawa next week for the medal presentation along with 29 other fire officials from across the country.

Board Holds Second Candidate Information Session

The local school board is offering potential candidates for this fall's election another chance to learn about being a member. Judith Sullivan-Corney is expected to talk about the board's role, remuneration and time commitment. There will then be a chance for potential candidates to ask questions. Roughly 50 people turned out for the first meeting in late May. Tonight's meeting gets underway at 6pm at the board office in Bridgewater. People interested in running for School Board elections must file their candidate papers by September 11.

Western Hurricanes Announce 2012-13 Roster

The BMO Western Hurricanes have finalized their roster for the upcoming season. Six players from Bridgewater, five from Yarmouth, two from Chester, and one from Lunenburg are among this year's squad. The Hurricanes have enjoyed a successful exhibition schedule so far, racking up four straight wins including an 8-1 Tuesday night against Halifax at Queens Place in Liverpool. The team will travel to Halifax Thursday night for another exhibition game. The regular season starts in September. NSP Paints Electric Co-op Into $30 Million Corner

Members of the municipal electric co-op were caught off guard by a move from Nova Scotia Power aimed at keeping them locked into the company's power grid. NSP is looking for roughly $30 million in total from the five members of the co-op should the independent utilities decide to purchase power from another supplier. Lunenburg mayor Laurence Mawhinney says it's hard to swallow because the co-op has been working hard to find cheaper power for its customers for the past seven years.



Mawhinney says it's frustrating given the province agreed to open the wholesale power market in 2005 so the utilities could explore buying power from other suppliers. Members of the co-op appeared before the utility and review board earlier this month during a hearing attached to NSP's new rate application. The co-op is made up five independent utilities in the province which include the town's of Lunenburg, Riverport, Mahone Bay, Berwick and Antigonish. No word on when a decision is expected from the URB.

UPDATED: Assault Case Put Over Until September

The court case involving a member of the Bridgewater Police Service has been put over until next month. Forty-six year old Christine Bonnell is facing two counts of assault connected to an alleged incident in July.
She was charged last month following an investigation by the province's Serious Incident Response Team. Bonnell is expected to enter a plea during her next court appearance on September 26th.

Penny Drive For Shelburne County Lighthouse

The lowest member of the Canadian coinage system is certainly attracting a lot of attention these days. Numerous community groups are keen on organizing penny drives as a way to raise money before the coin is removed from circulation later in the fall. The latest fundraising campaign is for the Sandy Point Lighthouse Group in Shelburne County. Spokesperson Jerry Fraser says the lighthouse is operated by the community and fundraising is a key part of it's regular upkeep. Fraser is hoping resident's will donate their old pennies to help preserve the iconic lighthouse. Penny drop boxes can be found at Lawton's, Goulden's Shell and at many other stores around Shelburne

Dr. Martha Jodrey Receives Humanitarian Award

A woman who spends her summer's in Chester is being recognized by the Canadian Red Cross. Dr. Martha Jodrey has been named the organization's humanitarian of the year for her work with people facing learning disabilities. She has spent the last three decades helping to create academic support programs at schools in Halifax and Windsor. Jodrey says she always wanted to help, not receive awards.



Jodrey has received a number of accolades for her long-standing work including the Order of Canada in 2009. She will receive the humanitarian award during a dinner in Halifax on October 24.

Workers At White Point Prepare To Move Indoors

Construction at White Point is preparing to shift indoors. Work on the roof finished Sunday and now the focus turns to installing the remaining windows before moving to the interior. General Manager Danny Morton says it will be a busy week indoors.



Work on the main lodge has been ongoing for the last five months after fire destroyed the previous building last November. Officials anticipate opening the lodge to the public November 8.

Bridgewater Man Charged With Trafficking Prescription Meds

Bridgewater police have charged a local man for trafficking prescription medication. Forty-seven-year-old Kevin Leroy Wheaton of Bridgewater faces charges after an incident last year. In October 2011, Bridgewater Police were called to a home regarding the sudden death of a 22-year-old Lunenburg County man. The body of Joshua Ballard was found in the accused's residence. Charges were laid after a ten month investigation with assistance from the Medical Examiner's office. The man will appear in court November 7th for plea.

Liberal "Power" Meeting Tonight On South Shore

More choice, more competition and more protection from the power monopoly. Thats how the province's Liberal leader Stephen McNeil sums-up the feedback he's been getting from Nova Scotians on his "Power Tour" across the province. The latest installment comes to the South Shore this evening. McNeil will hold a town hall-style meeting to discuss high power rates and his plan for eliminating NS Power's monopoly and those rate hikes which he says are jeopardizing the financial well-being of ratepayers.



Tonight's public meeting will be held at the Oak Hill Fire Hall starting at 7 o'clock. McNeil says similar sessions are planned, even after the utility and review board hearing on September 13th into Nova Scotia Power's application for power rate hikes in 2013 and 14.
