Mooseheads Clinch Spot In Memorial Cup

Nineteen years of frustration has turned into jubilation and joy for the Halifax Mooseheads. The club earned their first President Cup in team history, defeating the Baie-Comeau Drakkar 5-1 in game 5 of the QMJHL final. The Moose clinched the best-of-seven series four games to one. Stephen MacAuley scored twice while Stefan Fournier, Jonathan Drouin and Nathan MacKinnon each added one to pace the Mooseheads to victory. Drouin was named playoff MVP after notching 35 points in 17 games. The Mooseheads will now travel to Saskatoon for the Memorial Cup from May 17 until the 26. They'll open up play against the WHL champion on May 18. Lunenburg's Brennan Bailey is the lone South Shore native on the hockey team.
