A local cancer survivor is being rewarded for his work with prostate cancer awareness and Lunenburg County veterans. Dan Hennessey is receiving a Queens Diamond Jubilee medal this weekend. He says he's excited about receiving the honour.Hennessey helped work on a video involving World War II veterans on the South Shore and has written a book and directed a video promoting the need for men to get checked for prostate cancer. He is expected to accept the medal during a presentation at the Bridgewater Days Inn on Saturday.
