A 12-year veteran on municipal council is receiving an award for his work away from the table. Municipality of Lunenburg councillor Martin Bell will be awarded a Queens Diamond Jubilee medal for his work with volunteer fire services. He has spent the last 38 years involved with the Conquerall Bank Fire Department. Bell says he is honoured to receive the medal.One-hundred and eighty firefighters across Canada will receive the award. Bell will travel to Ottawa next week for the medal presentation along with 29 other fire officials from across the country.
