The results of our "election" poll over the past week are in and have produced some interesting results. We asked the question "If a provincial election were held today, how would you vote?". The results of the "unscientific" poll have 47 percent of those who voted in favor of Jamie Baillie's Progressive Conservatives. The Liberals under Stephen McNeil came in with 35 percent support and Darrell Dexter and his governing NDP finished with 18 percent of the popular vote. PC Leader Jamie Baillie believes its a sign his party's message is getting out.
Liberal leader Stephen McNeil says he has more work to do to show South Shore voters his party is electable and would be a reliable alternative to the Dexter government. He plans to continue talking with people about how he would solve many economic and social problems. McNeil says he's particularly happy with potential Liberal candidates for the South Shore.
Premier Darrell Dexter has decided not to comment. A spokeswoman from the premier's office said in an email that 'the poll is not representative of the region and we are not interested in commenting.'
