Bridgewater's police chief is giving social media a thumbs up. John Collyer says using the online tools has been a good experience for releasing information to the public immediately through twitter and facebook. Bridgewater Police started using social media a month ago. Collyer says a lot of people are viewing their posts including ones about stolen vehicles in the area.
Collyer says he's surprised by the amount of people who have followed their social media sites. The Bridgewater Police facebook page has over 670 likes, while their twitter account (@policenews) is up over 950 followers. He says the first month has been a huge learning curve for him, but he doesn't expect to stop using the sites anytime soon.
