A decision on a proposed $200 million wind farm in Lunenburg County could come as early as Thursday. Chester Warden Allen Webber says three dates have been set aside where council could potentially vote on whether to support the South Canoe Wind Project. He says if council needs more time to discuss the matter they have also scheduled special council meetings for March 20 and 21.
Minas Basin Pulp and Power, Oxford Frozen Foods and Nova Scotia Power are behind the massive wind farm which would stretch between Vaughan and New Russell. It would feature 34 turbines and create enough energy to heat 32,000 homes.
