A Lunenburg County university student is facing a hefty repair bill following a drive on the ragged Forties Road in Lunenburg County. The road from New Ross to East Dalhousie is uneven and features some deep divots and hasn't seen any new pavement in over a decade. Chester councillor Cheryl Scott says she received a letter from a young woman indicating her car sustained $500 in damage after a recent drive on the rough stretch of road.
Scott says the road is so bad, businesses are losing
customers because no one wants to drive on the road. The Nova Scotia government has recognized the
road needs new pavement but offered no timeline as to when that may happen.
